How Do I Find The Time To Build My New Web Business?

Question - I have a problem putting enough consecutive hours together where I can focus and concentrate on what I am doing.

I run my own small business and there seems to be a constant stream of visitors or calls for me causing distractions and broken threads of thought.

How can I find the time to build my Solo Build It site?

Answer - Boy can I understand where you're coming from. I used to have the same problem, but I've fixed it now to some degree by -

1) Blocking out a solid chunk of time (two to four hours, sometimes more if I can) early in the morning (when I'm at my best) where I don't let anything distract me.

2) Telling everyone around me that this time is mine and I don't want any distractions.

I don't answer the phone (it diverts to my Message Bank), don't check my emails, don't talk to anybody and don't leave my desk except for a quick walk around and a stretch every hour or so (and a few coffees :-).

3) Focus on my most important, most likely to produce results projects that will create residual income for me. These are high leverage things like wrting and distributing articles, finding partners to work with, creating viral ebooks and reports, etc.

I've found that all those urgent but non important things can wait without any dramas. I used to get snowed under working on other peoples stuff and could never work out why I didn't get anything done on my most important projects.

Now I feel like I am in control of my life, and I'm not run ragged by OPM (other people's monkeys).

Maybe you can use a similar system to give you a little free time to build your site. The long term benefits are certainly worth it, look at how well Nori Evoy is going with her web business now, even though she doesn't have a lot of time to work on it...
