"When do I start training my dog?"

Question - My pup is 4 months old and I'd like to start training him. What's the right age to start serious training?

Answer - You can and should start training your puppy straight away - the sooner you get him obeying you and understanding what is expected of him the better.

This will hopefully stop him forming too many bad habits which you will have to try to correct later on.

A dogs peak learning period is up to the age of around 16 to 18 weeks of age, so there's still time to get plenty of training in before that.

A good place to start is by reading Sit Stay Fetch, which offers an easy to follow, step by step training program that will teach your puppy everything he needs to know to become a well trained, obedient dog.

Chloe and I make a game out of it, and she really loves being with me because I give her so much attention.

Anyhow, I hope this helps, and best of luck with your training.

It's hard and a little frustrating at first, but they pick it up pretty quickly when there's food involved ;-)
